UNDERSTANDING AND USING CONFIDENCE INTERVALS FOR PROPORTIONS
Lesson 2
This is a Socratic lesson. The teacher will explain the intricacies of computing a confidence interval for a proportion. The purpose of this lesson is to further explain the theory behind confidence intervals, and how to compute such intervals. The teacher will ask probing question as the lesson progresses and will encourage all students to actively participate in the discussions. The lesson includes Classroom Investigation 7.2, and homework problems. Students may be assessed at the start of the next period based on discussion of the homework assignment.
